The sun was setting, the cold breeze was blowing, the fresh air was bringing terrible news of a disaster. The sky was filled with two colors, red and blue, it was difficult to imagine whether the scene the young man was watching was gloomy or cherishing. But the only thing every living creature knew was, the end is near. The young man was standing on a stone, where his great-great-grandfather stood and addressed an army of few thousand. Where he shouted for several hours and encouraged his men to march into the battlefield. Where he knew he was not going to win this battle, but his faculty was not willing to succumb to the situation without putting in any effort.

“We can not give up without seeing the last moment, we have lost everything, we have lost our houses, families, properties, we have lost everything if we win the world will be ours if we lose, it doesn’t make any difference. The only thing here that matters is the efforts.”

Soon he along with his men marched into the battlefield, the fighting was fierce and lasted for several hours, and the result was unprecedented. His army won, but like other victories, this victory cost something, his life. He took his last breaths in his son’s lap, seeing the enemy’s flag being replaced by his men. He smiled and died. His son moved to the same stone and proclaimed the beginning of an era that will blind everyone with its splendor, majesty, and magnificence. Now his grandson was standing there, witnessing the decline of the same dynasty, witnessing all those things that his forefathers have feared off. But he could not do anything. The empire of pomp was coming to an end, the end is inevitable. He sighed many times, looked at his palm, looked at the setting sun, stared at his two servants muttering something to each other. He knew they were discussing the same things that he was thinking there. He stood there for some minutes, went to his tent, everyone knew he was going to sign the document of surrender in the tent. After a moment he came outside, the soldiers started crying, everyone was mourning, the scene was enough to kill someone with horror. Then a soldier went to the tent and saw something else!

He along with his grand vizier went to a house,

“The wh*** has left this place, she’s gone, I saw her with her friend, the ba**** was holding her hand.”

That wh***, we knew everything….. Ahmad saw her with the same ba**** in that garden at night, at the night, at the night……”

“I know these bi***** very well, they should be killed at once……. Characterless…..”

The grand vizier kept on saying these words, the prince didn’t give attention to his words, he went to his tent again.

The grand vizier with the army general and some other nobles stood outside the tent, they kept on talking about her,

“She ran away, I knew it from the start, I told this naïve person many times, but every time he silenced me and gave immature reasons to prove everything legit.”

“Sometimes I think this prince is without a head”, said the General.

Soon this meeting of some nobles turned into a grand meeting where everyone brought his own, different story about the girl, they kept on abusing her, her parents, everyone contributed. A frustrated soldier tried to enter the prince’s tent to kill him but was stopped by the vizier.

“What are you going to do? You are going to give him an easy death, let him suffer to every inch of his body, ra****. Let him suffer……”

It was obvious the prince could not sleep with this all going out.

The next day afternoon, he sat on his horse, he was looking old, but he was smiling.

“Why is he smiling, m*********, why,” said the General.

Then he took out his sword from the scabbard, looked at the enemy’s side, and without saying anything made his horse gallop, he entered the enemy’s side. His soldiers were shocked to see this thing, on the other hand, the prince killed everyone he confronted, then a big man stood in front of him, he fought with him, but soon he felt like something being pierced into his body from behind, he looked behind him, tears were in his eyes due to the unbearing pain of this cowardly attack. A soldier stood there smiling, in his hands, there was a spear, he attacked from the backside, he then looked at his actual opponent he was also smiling, everyone was smiling around him. Soon this smile turned into roars of laughter. He was taking his last breaths, the tears in his eyes were not due to the agony. In his last breaths, he wanted to be with her, he wanted her to see this tragic and heartwrenching ending.

He remembered when he told her that he would sacrifice the entire empire for her, now it was coming true, he fulfilled his vow.

He then fell on his knees looking everywhere, everyone was laughing and smiling,

“What a humiliating death”

“Those who get themselves involved with ba** die like this”

“How painful it is, can not say you will meet your grandfathers in heaven, because they don’t want to see your face.”

And so and so, everyone was trying to end this poignant scene with a perfect statement, no one missed this opportunity.

The prince fell on the ground facing towards the east, where her house was, and tears rolled down his cheeks. Soon he could see his army’s flag being replaced by the enemy’s flag, the opposite of what his great-great-grandfather saw before his death. And then the end came.

The next moment the grand vizier and other nobles were seen tied in chains and being brought to the commander’s tent by the men. The General was blinded and then was burnt alive, the minister for providing flowers to His Majesty’s beloved was beheaded and so and so.

Then from a distance grand vizier saw the men of the enemy’s army fighting for the booty, he sighed.

This riot turned into a fight and then caused another distress on the battlefield.

Suddenly from the east, a man was seen coming on the horse by the nobles, he was holding His Majesty’s gold, having a hilt made of gold and embroidered with rubies.

The man was the prince, he came to the tent, got off the horse, and entered the tent. The commander on seeing this ran to get his sword from the corner of the tent, but he was too slow for the agility of the prince, in a moment he was beheaded.

Fakhr-ud-Din was thunderstruck to see this happening, but as a competent vizier, he knew what to do. The prince unchained him, took the shield of the enemy from the ground, and left the tent. Soon his men saw him running from the tent to the other side, he was shouting,

“Fight you mot******* or go home….”

The vice-general who was at the time being disgraced by the men of the Ghoriya’s saw this, he was stupefied and astonished to see this happening, but like Fakhr-ud-Din he had another reaction to this unexpected and extraordinary situation.

Ameer after making his unusual entry and surprising every living being on the Earth jumped into the throng of the Ghoriya’s men. Ameer wielded the sword in such a way that made everyone befuddled. Soon his men joined him and after an hour, the situation was utterly swerved.

No one knew what had happened, and no one knew where they were going. No one was concerned about winning the battle, the only thing that was worrying themselves and was acting as a driving force was, what if they were unable to put their utmost efforts into this campaign.

That is how it works, one should not worry himself about the consequences, about the ending, the only thing that matters is the endeavor, the efforts. You can only predict the ending but you can avert it with effort and struggle, you can avert it with determination and willpower. No matter what the situation is, what the odds are, strive, fight, dedicate your heart, and then wait for the results. Do not allow these predicted resuls to sway your efforts. Fight till the last moment!

This was how everyone acted, this was how they worked and changed the course of the event.

Ameer after ending this again went to that stone, after 24 hours he was again there, again standing on that top, this time he was not that person who was afraid of the ending. This time he was there shouting and yelling how he changed the situation. This time he was there to tell everyone, the firm determination can change fate. This time he was there triumphed.

The next day, he assigned all the nobles their respective departments and ordered them to survey all the lands in home and in the newly conquered territory. He institutionalized the departments, everyone was surprised to see this happening. All the previous ministries were abolished.

After a month, Fakhr-ud-Din mustered up his courage and approached Ameer to ask what actually happened on the battlefield.

It looked like Ameer was waiting for him to come, he took him to his garden and with a usual stroll told him everything.

“When I fell on the ground and closed my eyes, and prepared myself for the death angel to come, I saw Gul-e-Ra’na sitting on that stone, praying for me to come safely, I saw her, she was sobbing, her cheeks were wet with her tears, the dewdrops were falling from her eyes.”

Fakhar-ud-Din upon hearing her name said to himself, “The wh*** won’t leave us peacefully”

“Then I realized, this is a lie, this is utterly a lie, but I asked this lie to comfort me. I asked this lie to solace me, to give me energy……”

“The lie comforted me to the fullest, the lie gave me a driving force, soon it turned into a reality.”

“But the wh…… (Fakhar-ud-Din stopped for a while and changed his derogating words) but Gul-e-Ra’na left the place with your and her friend.”

“She was not there….”

“You wont understand, Fakhar you wont……”

“You hid behind a lie, this isn’t what great men do”

“You have to do such insensible things, you have to do…”

He sat on the ground and plucked a rose flower, “This reminds me about her hands, they were this delicate….”

Fakhar-ud-Din didn’t pay attention to this, “Now in which lie are you hiding yourself?”

Ameer moved to the other path which led to the courtroom, he corrected him,

“It is comforting yourself, bighead..”

His father used to use this word for him, Fakhar smiled after listening this from Ameer’s mouth.

“Not today but oneday she’ll come, if not today but one day it will happen. It is destined to happen.”

“It is meant to happen and it will surely happen?” asked Fakhar-ud-Din.

“Yes. By the way, I remember Rayhanis once looted our caravan, dispatch an army under Siraj’s supervision to deprive them of their lives.”

He stood, turned his face around, smiled, this smile was full of comfort and faith and said.

“Only IN THIS matter, I am comforting myself with lies.”
